Mozart, Mozart, Mozart! KlaraFestival LIVE on web radio!

KlaraFestival
KlaraFestival 2010 is off to a riveting start with an integral Mozart programme featuring Concerto Köln, this year’s excellent Artist in Residence. Mozart’s masterful last symphonic work, the Jupiter Symphony, is the cement holding this programme together. The choice of programming is no coincidence, since Mahler owed a large part of his success as a conductor to his rendition of this work.

Simone Kermes has also portrayed numerous Händel heroines, including Adelaide in Lotario, Asteria in Tamerlano, Laodice in Mitridate Eupatore, Merab in Saul, and the title roles in Alcina, Deidamia, and Rodelinda.

Simone Kermes

The first and all in all unknown version of this aria from Handels opera Rodelinda is a world premiere recording on Simone Kermes newest album "La Diva"...
The Gramophone said: "Kermes performances give nothing but pleasure".

On top of that, opening this year’s festival with such extremely talented people as Simone Kermes and Belgian conductor Frank Agsteribbe is more than just a daring experiment, it is an ode to music and absolute proof that classical music is still alive and kicking.

Alexei Lubimov plays at pianoforte on this concert. In recent seasons he has given concerts with the London Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Russian National Orchestra in Moscow and the Tonkünstlerorchester. In November 2010 he gives two recitals at Lincoln Center, returning in 2011 on tour with the Budapest Festival Orchestra conducted by Ivan Fischer.
